That was a fun thread name. I’m reading through "The Life of the Flycatcher" by Alexander Skutch; at the beginning of the book he makes the case for why he does not like the name tyrant for New World flycatchers. He uses the term "flycatcher" in place of tyrant or tyrannulet for all birds in the book. Thus Torrent Tyrannulet becomes Torrent Flycatcher or Black-capped Pygmy-Tyrant becomes Black-capped Pygmy-Flycatcher.
